"Are you PREPARED?"

Being prepared for an emergency - be it from a natural disaster or man-made catastrophe will make a huge difference in how your family and business survives.

Depending on where you live, help from the outside may not be able to get to your community or you right away. Going even a day without heat and electricity can be difficult if you are not prepared - especially in the colder months.

The recommendation is that EVERYONE set aside extra clothes, blankets, and emergency supplies, including a 3 Day supply of clean water and non-perishable food sources for the number of people in your family and/or business organized in duffle or container that can go mobil should you need to relocate to an off-site shelter.

"Quick-Tips" to Be Prepared:

# 1. Have a 3 day supply of food & water (3 gal. per person) for the number of people in your household and/or office ready to go. Consider storing majority of supplies in a sturdy duffle bag or container with wheels or handles.

#2. Identify a location specific to each family member to go to if you are separated during/or by a disaster and getting home is not an option.

#3. Supply family members with a laminated card listing emergency contact #s including the phone # of a "point of contact" person outside the state to report their safety status to in the event the networks are jammed in state.

#4. Have an Emergency Kit for everyone's car and include the basic essentials plus a cell phone charger/extra phone batteries, area maps, and laminated emergency card with important phone numbers and medical/insurance info.

#5.: Have emergency supplies and an Emergency Plan in place for your elderly neighbors and pets!

The Tips above offer a "quick start" approach to getting some of the basics done to "Be Prepared," and should not to be considered the entire plan of action required in the event of a disaster. Please visit the links below for more detailed instructions:
